Job description

The Draft/CAD Technician (freelancer) will provide technical drafting and design support to Anatolia on a project-by-project basis. This role focuses on creating high-quality technical drawings, rendering and design documentation to support product development, merchandising, marketing and showroom initiatives. They will visualize and develop beautiful spaces for the organization and also help to design the tile and stone products that adorn them. Working closely with our cross functional team which includes Product Development, Interior Design, Merchandising, Sales and Marketing.
This is an independent contractor role ideal for professionals who can manage multiple projects and work in a flexible, contract based, primarily remote. This role may occasionally require in-person collaboration at the office for project coordination, design reviews, or team alignment, as needed.
Job Responsibilities
  • Design, update, and create technical drawings for product development, merchandising and marketing support materials.
  • Create detailed line and color drawings for both our internal and external customers as well as outlining manufacturing guidelines and required specifications.
  • Develop design plans for showroom build-outs, tradeshow booth designs, color plans, furniture and décor selection.
  • Source materials and conduct cost analysis for projects.
  • Work alongside the Senior Designer - Interior & Product Design and Senior Manager - Interior & Product Design to visualize and design new tile products to add to our extensive product line-up using various design software tools.
  • Research and find photos and graphics for various in-house projects
  • Ensure that branding guidelines established by the company are adhered to on all projects
  • Collaborates and provides support for Product Development, Merchandising, Sales, Marketing and Creative teams to ensure project timelines are delivered on time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and development of Anatolia's various product lines.

Ideal Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Interior Design and/or Architectural Technician required
  • 1-5 years progressive experience in a similar role, ideally with direct or similar industry experience with proven success in designing beautiful spaces and products used in premium interior spaces
  • Advanced proficiency with a wide range of design software tools (e.g, AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.) for creating 2D and 3D renderings along with other software such as Microsoft Office products
  • Confident and dynamic personality with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and demonstrated capability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cutting-edge interior design trends, and solid practices for remaining current with innovation as related to tools, software and design trends
  • Highly organized with exceptional proficiency to meet communicated deadlines
  • Outstanding attention to detail, strong understanding of space and scale and a clear delivery of fresh ideas from ideation to creation
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills necessary

This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement and does not establish an employer-employee relationship. The contractor will not be entitled to employee benefits, paid leave or statutory protections applicable to employees, and will be responsible for their own tax and legal obligations. All work will be governed by a formal contract agreement.
