Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Kentucky invites applications for the position of Lecturer. This position is a non-tenure track faculty position on a renewable one-year contract; appointments are nine-month, renewable with a start date of August 1, 2026. Longer contracts may be offered upon successful completion of initial assignments. The initial Distribution of Effort (DOE) will be 80% Instruction, 10% Service, and 10% Professional Development.
Duties will include teaching a broad range of undergraduate courses (but not First Year Engineering courses), holding office hours, grading, supervision of teaching assistants and development of course materials. Multiple sections of lecture and laboratory courses will be offered each semester.
Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. Lecturer positions do not have required research responsibility; however interest in research will be viewed favorably.
Lecturer applicants should hold a Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. PhD preferred. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and strong industry experience will also be considered. Successful candidates will be expected to have prior relevant teaching and/or industry experience.
