About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) specializing in Orthodontics to join our progressive, state-of-the-art practice. This permanent, full-time opportunity is distributed across our five modern Edmonton locations.
We are looking for a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented professional who brings a caring and compassionate approach to patient care. The successful candidate will excel at building meaningful connections with patients, parents, and team members alike. A positive attitude and a strong commitment to professional excellence are essential for success in this role


Responsibilities & Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and assist the Orthodontist/Dentist during examinations and treatments
  • Taking precise diagnostic records, including digital X-rays, intraoral scans, and clinical photographs
  • Prepare teeth for bonding and assist with the placement and removal of orthodontic appliances
  • Place and remove orthodontic archwires, ligatures and clear attachments
  • Educated patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care and compliance
  • Manage orthodontic emergencies, including trimming long wires and comforting patients
  • Assist the Pediatric Dentistry team as needed
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment
  • Additional duties may be assigned as required


Education and Certifications

The successful candidate will meet the following education and credential requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program is a requirement
  • Active registration and certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in Alberta is a requirement
  • Successful completion of the Orthodontic Module is a requirement
  • Current CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Successful completion of the Scaling Module is an asset

We are looking for a professional who demonstrates the following clinical and interpersonal skills:

  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal
  • Computer proficient; able to learn new software quickly. Ortho2Edge and Curve Hero are used at our clinic
  • Experience in an Orthodontic clinic is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with children of all ages
  • Available to work during applicable business hours
  • Willing to be cross-trained in orthodontic and pediatric procedures
  • Willing to travel between 5 different clinic locations
