Our client seeks a ServiceNow Platform Architect to lead architecture, governance, and strategic evolution of the enterprise ServiceNow platform. The role defines platform direction, ensures scalable and secure implementations, and aligns business and IT to maximize platform value. The architect will drive platform strategy and standards, guide complex solution design, improve platform health and operations, and mentor engineering teams.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $100.00 to $110.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the enterprise ServiceNow architecture vision and roadmap.

  • Translate business priorities into scalable platform design patterns and reference architectures.

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data, AI, and integration strategies.

  • Evaluate new capabilities such as Now Assist and GenAI and drive adoption aligned to outcomes.

  • Establish and enforce platform guardrails, design standards, and development best practices.

  • Advance platform governance across intake, design review, and release standards.

  • Ensure secure, compliant delivery aligned to SOX, audit, and enterprise SDLC practices.

  • Serve as architectural authority for key decisions and exception management.

  • Lead architecture for complex, cross-functional ServiceNow solutions.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to co-own epics and solution outcomes.

  • Enable reuse through shared services, integrations, and platform accelerators.

  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including security, scalability, and performance.

  • Drive platform reliability, observability, and performance optimization.

  • Define and oversee SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, and proactive health scanning.

  • Manage technical debt, upgrade strategy, and lifecycle planning.

  • Promote operational stability and continuous improvement.

  • Mentor engineers and technical leads to elevate platform capability.

  • Provide thought leadership on capabilities and limitations and influence stakeholders.

Experience Requirements:

  • 8+ years in enterprise platform engineering or architecture.

  • 4-5+ years deep ServiceNow experience across multiple modules such as ITSM, CSM, HRSD, and ITOM.

  • Proven ability to define platform strategy and architecture at enterprise scale.

  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, security models, and enterprise architecture frameworks.

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow development and architecture including Flow Designer, custom apps, and integrations.

  • Strong foundation in JavaScript, REST APIs, and authentication protocols such as OAuth and SAML.

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality.

  • Familiarity with platform observability, performance analytics, and health metrics.

  • Ability to bridge business strategy and technical execution with strong communication and influencing skills.

  • Passion for customer-centric design and platform simplification with demonstrated ability to lead through influence.
