$16.21 - $28.50/hourly - contingent on available funding

About this Position

Responsible for implementation of College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) Technology initiatives relating to faculty and staff desktop computing resources. Provide technical support for all desktop computing hardware/software for faculty and staff in the CEHS. Maintain an understanding of software, hardware or other technology resources and implement those technologies as assigned by management. Maintain awareness of current and emerging technologies and trends in computing and networked access.

Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Computer Specialist I: HS/GED and six years related experience with requirement to receive bachelor's degree within six years of hire OR Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience.

    Computer Specialist II: HS/GED and eight years related experience and demonstrated progress toward bachelor's degree or bachelor's degree and three years of related experience.

    Computer Specialist III: HS/GED and ten years related experience and demonstrated progress toward bachelor's degree or bachelor's degree and five years of related experience.

    Sr Computer Specialist I: Bachelor's degree and seven years related experience

    Sr Computer Specialist II: Bachelor's degree and ten years related experience or master's degree and 8 years related experience

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Experience with multiple computer platforms and operating systems, client-based networking software (TCP/IP), MS Office, Outlook, internet browsers, peripherals (e.g. printers, scanners), and multimedia equipment (e.g. projectors, document cameras).
  • Ability to follow manuals, read and interpret complicated instructions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability and desire to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's - Technology - related area
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience
