Job description

Every year Community College of Vermont employs nearly 500 part-time faculty to teach its courses at 12 locations statewide and online, and we are always looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable teachers. All faculty work part-time with a maximum of three courses each semester.

The Community College of Vermont seeks applicants for a part-time faculty position to teach Computer Applications (3 Credits) in Bennington for the Fall 2026 semester.

Semester Dates: 9/10/2026 - 12/17/2026

Semester Times: Thursdays, 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Location: CCV Bennington

Course Description:

This course provides a hands-on introduction to office application software designed for computers and mobile devices. Topics include cloud applications, presentations, word processing, and spreadsheets. Basic computer and internet skills are required.

Essential Objectives: 

Demonstrate the ability to create, organize, and securely share files using local and cloud-based platforms, applying file management best practices across local and remote systems.

Apply primary features of word processing software to create, format, and edit accessible documents used in workplace settings.

Design and construct accessible spreadsheets using basic formulas, functions, charts, and data visualization tools to organize and analyze quantitative information for informed decision-making in the workplace.

Create and design professional presentations that engage audiences, ensure accessibility and inclusion, and communicate information clearly and effectively.

Identify and apply ethical uses of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to enhance productivity and streamline tasks in common computer applications.

Determine the appropriate and efficient use of software applications for a variety of workplace tasks.

Requirements:  Master's degree required.

The budgeted wage for this position is $4,365 per 3-credit course.
