Job description

Job Title:

IT Infrastructure Engineer - Junior


Job Summary:

This position may support on-site or, hybrid operations depending on contract requirements. Occasional after-hours support may be required during maintenance windows, outages, or infrastructure deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of physical and virtual servers.
  • Support day-to-day IT infrastructure operations including system health checks, patching, and performance monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support Active Directory administration, account management, and group policy implementation.
  • Assist with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data protection and system resiliency.
  • Monitor infrastructure alerts and respond to operational incidents and service requests.
  • Support virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or comparable platforms.
  • Assist with cloud infrastructure administration in environments such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, system inventories, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support cybersecurity and compliance initiatives by implementing approved security controls and remediation activities.
  • Coordinate with network, cybersecurity, and application teams to support integrated enterprise solutions.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh projects.



Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Comptia Security Plus or 8570 equivalent
  • Secret Clearance
  • Basic understanding of Windows and/or Linux server administration.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
  • Understanding of virtualization and cloud computing concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledgeable of SIPR and NIPR networks
  • Previous military experience
  • Familiar with secure areas like SCIFs

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure or enterprise systems.

Job Stipulations:

Able to dedicate 8 hours between 0700 and 1600 EST.

Obtain and keep a secret level clearance

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
