Compounding Pharmacist (New Grads & Experienced Pharmacists

Welcome)

Location: Tucson, Arizona

Position Type: Full-Time

Prescription Lab Compounding Pharmacy is a patient-centered compounding pharmacy

that has been proudly serving the community for over 29 years and is the only sterile

compounding pharmacy in Tucson. We are committed to delivering customized medication

solutions that improve patient outcomes. Our team blends clinical expertise with

innovation, creating a collaborative environment where pharmacists at all career stages can

thrive and grow.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Compounding Pharmacist to join our team.

This role is ideal for both recent graduates looking to build specialized skills and

experienced pharmacists seeking to expand or deepen their expertise in compounding and

personalized medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee technician preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounded medications to

ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with USP guidelines

• Formulate and customize compounded medications tailored to specific patient needs

• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and clinical appropriateness

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized treatment plans

• Provide patient counseling on compounded therapies

• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards

• Oversee quality assurance, documentation, and workflow processes

• Contribute to process improvement and pharmacy operations

Qualifications

Required:

• PharmD degree from an accredited program preferred

• Active pharmacist license or eligibility in Arizona (Graduate Interns eligible)

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

For Recent Graduates:

• Interest in compounding and personalized medicine

• Willingness to learn in a hands-on, mentorship-driven environment

For Experienced Pharmacists:

• Prior experience in compounding, hospital, or retail pharmacy (preferred but not

required)

• Familiarity with USP standards and regulatory compliance

• Ability to work independently and contribute to process improvements
