Job description

Position Overview

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Assembler for a contract opportunity in Owego, NY.


Note: Candidates with construction, manufacturing, assembly, or auto body experience are highly preferred. This role involves the use of hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, routers, and similar equipment. Candidates with soldering-only backgrounds are not the target profile for this position.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with metal and/or composite bonding preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, construction, assembly, or auto body experience will be considered and training may be provided.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a production environment.
  • Ability to read and follow diagrams, drawings, and work instructions.


Position Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Assemble modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables, and related components.
  • Work from diagrams, drawings, and layout instructions.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and saws to complete assembly tasks.
  • Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
  • Conduct quality inspections in accordance with established specifications.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies as required.
  • Follow manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
