Job description

Cimarron is seeking a Composite Technician with composite bonding experience to support our partnership with a commercial aerospace company at their rocket production facility in Briggs, TX. In this role, you will be part of an integrated team supporting the hands-on manufacture of production and development hardware, including primary structures, tanks, and secondary structures, from raw fiber through delivery to the integration line. Through this partnership, Cimarron provides highly skilled technical talent in support of our customer's next-generation launch and space systems.

This customer designs and builds small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions spanning low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. Together, our teams leverage advanced carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across platforms to iterate quickly, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost. This position supports 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Key Duties: Perform all phases of aerospace-grade composite manufacturing with minimal supervision, with a strong emphasis on composite bonding. Independently execute structural bonding operations, including surface preparation, adhesive mixing and application, bondline control, and cure verification. Cut carbon materials using hand tools while holding tight tolerances.

Execute advanced hand lamination using carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and foam or metallic cores. Lead full vacuum bag cure cycles, including instrumentation setup, debulking, and oven monitoring. Ensure bonded and cured materials meet manufacturer specifications and engineering requirements.

Handle and control materials in compliance with AS9100 standards. Identify and perform scarfing operations on composite plies for structural repair and rework. Support CONOPS and tooling design discussions for new and future products.

Collaborate with engineering to improve bonding processes, composite designs, and manufacturability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, quality, and repeatability across fabrication operations.Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time

7 or more years of experience manufacturing aerospace-grade composite structures, including extensive hands-on bonding experience. Demonstrated expertise performing structural composite bonding to engineering drawings and process specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Proven ability to drill and lay out precision holes to engineering requirements. Proficiency with pneumatic tools, hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments. Experience working with composite layup, bonding, drilling, laminating, and assembly drawings.

Experience interpreting material data sheets, adhesive specifications, and process documentation. Strong commitment to shop organization, cleanliness, and safety. Consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety standards.
