JOB TITLE:ย Aerospace Composite Structures Technician
LOCATION: Mesa, AZ
PAY RATE: $31-40/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:ย 

  • Perform modification and repair work on composite structures for space flight systems

  • Execute precise trimming, drilling, and finishing of composite components and assemblies

  • Assemble composite structures including layup, bonding, and fastener installation

  • Perform surface preparation using hand and power abrasion techniques per process specifications

  • Fabricate laminate assemblies following company process documentation

  • Prepare parts for curing processes, including bagging, bleeders, thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections

  • Mix adhesives accurately according to manufacturing specifications

  • Perform tolerance and dimensional calculations for part layout and reference points

  • Conduct close-tolerance scarf repairs as required

  • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, precision scales)

  • Accurately document work progress and complete required job signoffs

Requirements:

  • 5โ€“10 years of hands-on experience with carbon fiber and fiberglass composites

    • Layup, trimming, drilling, surface prep, bonding, and curing

  • Precision drilling on composites is required

    • Candidates must clearly document this experience on their resume

  • Strong knowledge of industry practices for composite materials and assemblies

  • Valid passport and ability to obtain a driverโ€™s license

  • FAA A&P License preferred, but not required

  • Ability to travel 25% or more

  • Stand for extended periods (minimum 8 hours)

  • Stoop, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces (3+ hours)

  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs unassisted

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
