Job Summary
We are hiring a Composite Technician - Poway for a direct hire, Level I opportunity supporting advanced composite fabrication, assembly, and repair work in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with at least 1 to 2 years of hands-on manufacturing or assembly experience who enjoys precise, detail-focused work with composite materials, aerospace components, blueprints, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
As a Composite Technician Assembler, you will fabricate and assemble composite structures using materials such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, fiberglass, honeycomb, adhesives, and related materials. You will work under supervision while following engineering drawings, specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair composite structures using carbon fiber, Kevlar, fiberglass, honeycomb, adhesives, and similar materials.
- Read and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, templates, guides, work instructions, and specifications to complete precise assembly work.
- Prepare bonding surfaces by sanding, cleaning, treating, trimming, drilling, routing, and fitting parts to required tolerances.
- Apply adhesives, sealants, bonding agents, and fasteners such as rivets, bolts, and screws while verifying placement, fit, and torque requirements.
- Use assembly jigs, fixtures, templates, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to maintain dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
- Perform basic inspections, record process steps, communicate deviations, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Fabricate, assemble, trim, drill, bond, fasten, and finish composite parts and subassemblies to engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, templates, and work instructions to complete accurate composite assembly work.
- Prepare molds, forms, bonding surfaces, materials, and components for lay-up, curing, fitting, and assembly processes.
- Perform basic quality checks, document assembly steps, and communicate issues or deviations to supervisors, engineering, or quality teams.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of hands-on manufacturing or assembly experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Composite assembly, aerospace assembly, or advanced materials experience is strongly relevant.
- Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with blueprints, drawings, specifications, and simple mathematical calculations.
- Experience using machinist hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, jigs, fixtures, and templates.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, bonding, adhesives, sealants, fasteners, and surface finishing techniques.
- Ability to work safely in a loud manufacturing environment and follow established operating procedures and safety practices.
- Ability to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, communication skills, teamwork, and commitment to quality.
- Must be able to work extended hours as required.
- May require respirator certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Composite fabrication or composite lay-up experience.
- Aerospace component assembly experience.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and production safety requirements.
- Experience integrating composite parts with metallic or non-metallic hardware such as inserts, bushings, and brackets.
- Experience with trimming, routing, sanding, drilling, bonding, and fastening to tight tolerances.
