How much do compliance training jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for compliance training in the United States is $24.25, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $18.27 and $26.44 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What training do you need to be a compliance officer?

To become a compliance officer, individuals typically need a bachelor's degree in fields like business, law, or finance. Relevant training includes understanding regulatory requirements, risk management, and often obtaining certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM). Experience in auditing, legal, or financial roles also enhances qualifications.

What is compliance training?

Compliance training is a type of education that helps employees understand and follow laws, regulations, and company policies relevant to their roles. This training often covers topics like workplace safety, data protection, anti-harassment policies, and ethical conduct. The goal is to reduce legal risks, prevent misconduct, and create a safe, ethical, and productive work environment. Many organizations require compliance training as part of onboarding and provide regular updates to ensure ongoing adherence.

What is the best certification for compliance?

For compliance professionals, the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) and Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) are widely recognized certifications that demonstrate expertise in compliance standards and regulations. These certifications typically require relevant work experience and passing an exam, and they help validate skills in risk management, ethics, and regulatory requirements.

What are some common challenges faced in a Compliance Training role, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Compliance Training often encounter challenges such as keeping training content up to date with constantly changing regulations, engaging employees who may view compliance training as tedious, and ensuring consistent participation across the organization. Addressing these challenges involves regularly collaborating with legal and regulatory experts, utilizing interactive and scenario-based learning methods to increase engagement, and implementing tracking systems to monitor completion rates. Building strong relationships with department managers can also help promote a culture of compliance and encourage participation.

Are compliance jobs well paid?

Compliance jobs often offer competitive salaries, especially for roles requiring certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or experience in regulatory environments. Salaries vary based on industry, location, and experience, but many compliance professionals earn above average wages compared to other administrative or support roles.

What are examples of compliance training?

Compliance training for professionals in this field includes courses on workplace ethics, data protection, anti-harassment policies, safety procedures, and industry-specific regulations. These trainings ensure employees understand legal requirements and organizational policies to maintain ethical and lawful operations.

What is the difference between Compliance Training vs Compliance Officer?

To thrive in Compliance Training, you need a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, instructional design principles, and relevant industry standards, often supported by a background in compliance, education, or certifications like Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP). Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning development tools, and compliance tracking software is typically required. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to engage diverse audiences are important soft skills for success. These skills ensure effective delivery of training, mitigate organizational risk, and promote a culture of compliance.
