Job description

Job Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist II
Job Summary:
Environmental Compliance Specialist II is responsible for performing intermediate-level environmental technical work in support of assigned projects within the EHS business unit. This role includes conducting environmental studies, fieldwork, data analysis, and regulatory or technical support activities appropriate to the department's focus. This role supports a diverse portfolio of projects across air, water, and waste programs while fostering strong client relationships and supporting the growth of service offerings.
The position requires a working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, the ability to exercise professional judgment, and the capacity to complete tasks with moderate supervision. The position is responsible for managing and executing environmental consulting projects from initiation through completion, with an emphasis on project management, client coordination, schedule control, and delivery quality. This position should have the ability to independently manage routine to moderately complex projects, support proposal development and cross sell efforts, and collaborate closely with subject matter experts, project directors, and operations staff.
The ideal candidate will have minimum of 5 years of professional environmental experience and will perform a combination of office-based technical work and field activities, typically approximately 70% office and 30% field or travel, depending on project and departmental needs.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Manage assigned environmental projects from kickoff through closeout, including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables
โ€ข Perform environmental fieldwork, inspections, monitoring, or sampling activities as required by assigned projects
โ€ข Prepare, review, and contribute to environmental reports, technical memoranda, site specific compliance plans, or permit documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and project requirements
โ€ข Support environmental compliance, permitting, assessment, or monitoring activities
โ€ข Collect, compile, and analyze environmental data to support project deliverables and decision-making
โ€ข Maintain accurate project documentation, field logs, and records to support audits, regulatory reviews, or internal quality control
โ€ข Coordinate with project managers, technical staff, and clients to support effective project execution
โ€ข Communicate with regulatory agencies or stakeholders as directed to support permitting, reporting, inspections, or project coordination
โ€ข Stay informed of relevant environmental regulations, guidance, and industry best practices applicable to assigned work
โ€ข Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry-level staff as appropriate to role and project needs
Pay Rate:
$80,000-$85,000 depending on experience
Education & Experience:
โ€ข Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
โ€ข Understanding of environmental regulations affecting complex industrial facilities such as Clean Air Act (CAA) , Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and/or Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).
โ€ข 5+ years of relevant professional experience performing environmental technical work within a consulting, industry, or regulatory setting
โ€ข Experience supporting environmental compliance, permitting, monitoring, assessment, or related activities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Physical Demands:
