Inside Sales Manager

Smile America Partners

Farmington Hills, MI • On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Re-posted 12 days ago

Job description

Smile America Partners is a national leader in school-based preventive dental care, partnering with school districts across 20+ states to deliver high-quality dental services directly on school campuses. Our programs eliminate barriers to care by bringing dentistry to students where they already are. The Inside Sales Manager plays a critical leadership role in scaling this mission, directing a high-performing team of Outreach Coordinators (OCs) responsible for connecting with schools and districts nationwide from our Farmington Hills, Michigan corporate office.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Manager is a front-line sales leader responsible for hiring, developing, coaching, and driving a team of 10 to 20 Outreach Coordinators in a fast-paced, high-volume inside sales environment. This leader sets the daily performance standard, coaches OCs on outreach strategy and AI-enabled sales tools, monitors pipeline health, and partners with the Senior Sales Leader to align team activity with growth targets. The right candidate brings proven experience managing a call center, high-volume inside sales teams, a passion for coaching, and the ability to build a results-driven team culture rooted in accountability, energy, and continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Senior Sales Leader.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Directly manage a team of 10–20 Outreach Coordinators (OCs) engaged in high-volume outbound outreach to schools and school districts across Smile America Partners’ 20-state service territory.
  • Set, communicate, coach, and reinforce daily, weekly, and monthly performance expectations for call activity, email outreach, pipeline generation, and school scheduling.
  • Monitor individual and team performance metrics in real time using CRM dashboards and activity reporting tools; identify trends and act quickly to close performance gaps.
  • Lead structured daily team huddles, weekly 1-on-1 coaching sessions, and monthly performance reviews for each OC on the team.
  • Partner with HR and the Senior Sales Leader on hiring, onboarding, performance improvement plans, and talent development decisions.

Coaching & Development:

  • Provide real-time call coaching, live monitoring, and post-call debriefs to develop OC outreach skills, objection handling, and school administrator engagement effectiveness.
  • Champion the adoption and effective use of AI-enabled sales tools across the team — including AI-assisted call preparation, message personalization, and outreach sequencing platforms.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding training programs for new OC hires; create a repeatable playbook for ramp-up to full productivity within 30–60 days.
  • Identify top performers and build individualized development plans to grow OC capabilities and prepare high-potential team members for advancement.

Pipeline & Operations:

  • Maintain deep visibility into team pipeline health by ensuring accurate, timely CRM data entry and opportunity tracking across all OC accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Sales Leader and marketing team to align outreach messaging, campaign sequencing, and territory prioritization with company growth strategy.
  • Provide regular team activity based performance reports, pipeline forecasts, and win/loss summaries to the Senior Sales Leader.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize outreach workflows, call scripts, email templates, and scheduling cadences to improve team conversion rates.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex school or district conversations requiring senior-level outreach support.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 3–5 years of experience managing a high-call-volume, fast-paced inside sales or call center team; demonstrated ability to lead teams of 10 or more.
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining a performance-driven team culture with measurable improvements in activity metrics, pipeline generation, and quota attainment.
  • Direct coaching experience using AI-enabled sales and call coaching tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, or AI equivalent platforms).
  • Strong CRM proficiency — daily use for pipeline management, performance tracking, and reporting (ACT, Salesforce, Dynamic, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills; able to inspire a diverse team and deliver constructive feedback with impact.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple performance priorities and reporting responsibilities simultaneously.

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or public education sales environments — particularly organizations serving schools, health systems, or government-funded programs.
  • Familiarity with school district structures, K–12 education decision-making processes, or Medicaid/CHIP-funded school health programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales Management, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field; equivalent professional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience scaling a new or growing inside sales team from launch through full productivity in a high-growth company environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, on-site leadership position at Smile America Partners’ corporate office in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
  • Performance-driven, fast-paced, team-oriented sales floor environment; this role sets the energy and standard for the entire OC team.
  • Standard business hours aligned with school district operating schedules across all time zones; occasional flexibility required during high-activity enrollment periods.
  • Real-time coaching and floor management responsibilities require consistent daily presence and engagement with the OC team.
  • Access to company-provided technology including CRM platform, AI sales coaching tools, email automation, and performance dashboards.

COMPENSATION PLAN — FARMINGTON HILLS, MI MARKET

Smile America Partners offers a competitive total compensation package for this management role, structured to reward both individual leadership excellence and team-level results. Base salary reflects the Farmington Hills, Michigan market for experienced inside sales managers with 3–5 years of call center leadership experience.

Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and holidays; professional development budget including AI coaching tool subscriptions and sales leadership training.

Smile America Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Smile America Partners is the nation's leading in-school dental program founded almost two decades ago by two moms, who happen to also be dentists. The founders saw a tremendous need among underserved school aged children who did not have easy access to dental care and who often suffered from poor oral hygiene, tooth decay, pain and associated medical problems. Knowing that many parents could not take their children to the dentist due to issues including time off from work and transportation challenges, they sought to bring the care to the need. Today, through its dental partners, Smile America Partners provides preventive and restorative care to approximately 500,000 children per year.

Tooth decay is the most common, and preventable disease among children, more common than asthma. In fact, each year, over 51 million school hours are lost due to oral health related issues.

Smile America Partners affiliates with state licensed dentists, hygienists and assistants who use state-of-the-art portable equipment to provide all services onsite, directly in the school or in a self-contained mobile dental facility on site at the school. If portable equipment is used, classrooms, auditoriums or other school venues are literally transformed into fully functional dental offices for the day. Our expertise, obtained through years of experience bringing mobile dental care to schools, as well as through our highly qualified staff, enables us to bring exceptional care with minimal disruption to the normal school routine.

Smile America Partners is currently active in 20 states and has ongoing strategic partnerships with over 8,000 school districts, including 21 of the 25 largest school districts in the country.

Given the ongoing lack of access for many underserved children across the country, our services are in great demand and we are always looking for caring, compassionate professionals to join our team and play their part in making a difference in the lives of today's underserved children.

Rewarding Work. Competitive Compensation. Smile America Partners.

Smile America Partners is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation or protected veteran status.
