Job Summary
Inter-Con Security is seeking a Senior Vice President of Compensation & Benefits to lead payroll, compensation, and benefits operations across a large, complex workforce environment. This executive will oversee payroll operations, benefits strategy, and process improvement initiatives for approximately 18,000 active employees across multiple payroll cycles and pay structures.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and highly tactical, with deep expertise in complex payroll operations, benefits administration, and service-industry workforce environments. This leader must be able to drive operational improvements, identify root causes, partner cross-functionally, and communicate effectively with executives and operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Serve as a senior strategic partner to executive leadership.
  • Educate and influence operational leaders on payroll and benefits processes.
  • Lead organizational and process improvements across payroll and benefits functions.
  • Balance executive-level strategy with strong day-to-day operational execution.

Payroll & Compensation
  • Lead payroll operations across multiple payroll cycles, including weekly payroll environments.
  • Oversee complex hourly, union, variable-rate, and client-specific pay structures.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for payroll operations, compliance, and issue resolution.
  • Drive payroll process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Recruiting, Contracts, Operations, and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Analyze payroll issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Support payroll system optimization and transition initiatives, including extensive ADP payroll administration.

Benefits Leadership
  • Own and lead the company's benefits strategy and administration.
  • Design and optimize benefits plans, carriers, copays, and cost-sharing structures.
  • Analyze claims data, utilization trends, and financial impact to improve company economics.
  • Lead annual renewal and open enrollment processes.
  • Develop cost-effective benefits strategies aligned with workforce and business objectives.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in compensation, benefits, and payroll operations.
  • Extensive ADP payroll experience required.
  • Experience supporting large, high-volume hourly workforces (5,000+ employees preferred).
  • Strong background in service-based industries such as staffing, hospitality, healthcare, call center, or similar environments.
  • Experience with complex payroll structures and multiple pay cycles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred
  • Union payroll and CBA experience.
  • Self-insured benefits experience.
  • 401(k) administration experience.
  • Experience supporting organizations with 10,000+ employees.
