THE ROLE
The Investment Product Competitive Analysis Lead Analyst plays a key role in shaping MFS's competitive positioning by uncovering competitive advantages and risks, defining market trends, and identifying growth opportunities. This role compiles and analyzes strategic competitive analysis across the mutual fund and institutional asset management landscape, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership and client-facing teams. This individual will play a key role in driving competitive intelligence to appropriately position MFS in the marketplace.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Provide competitive intelligence and strategic analysis to senior management and key stakeholders across sales organizations, product development, and investment management teams.
  • Partner closely with sales and relationship teams to strengthen client positioning and support new business opportunities.
  • Serve as an in-house expert on competitors, industry trends, and product positioning using internal and external data sources (e.g. eVestment, Morningstar, Strategic Insight, FinSearches, etc.)
  • Analyze MFS sales, redemptions and asset flow trends to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reporting on MFS's competitive position, including implications for strategy and product positioning.
  • Improve scalability and efficiency of competitive intelligence delivery through automation and streamlined reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance databases and tools for market and competitor intelligence using industry research platforms like eVestment to support strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain a network of industry contacts and key stakeholders to enhance market intelligence gathering.
  • Represent MFS in industry conferences, working groups and external forums, as appropriate or needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-6+years of relevant experience in the financial service industry preferably with a focus on asset management, competitive intelligence, product strategy or investment related role.
  • Strong knowledge of investment products and the competitive, regulatory, and market environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, synthesis and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex quantitative and qualitative data into actionable business insights.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across multiple facets of an organization (sales, investments, leadership teams).
  • Strong knowledge of market research and competitive intelligence databases (e.g. eVestment, Morningstar, FinSearch, MandateWire, Brightscope, etc.).
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn data intelligence and visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau).

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 (or ability to obtain per firm policy).

Base Salary Range: $79,000.00 - $113,000.00This position is eligible for competitive incentive bonus.

This range reflects our good-faith expectation for what we'll pay depending on the candidate's experience, training and education. In addition to the salary, we also offer significant and competitive incentive compensation based on both individual and company performance. Other components of our Total Rewards Package include:
  • MFS contributes an amount equal to 15% of your base salary to your retirement account that is separate from the company -sponsored 401(k)
