Total Compensation Specialist – Payroll Focus

As a Coordinator within Total Compensation, your responsibility is to support precise and prompt compensation for every team member,and assisting as needed with prevailing wage and apprenticeship topics, as well as company-sponsored benefit matters. You play a vital role in the team by tracking and executing manual adjustments to payroll, processing Employee Action Forms (“EAFs”), assisting with the maintenance of prevailing wage and apprenticeship setup in our systems, and supporting benefit matters as needed. You bring a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical and mathematical skills informed by prior payroll or accounting experience, a collaborative mindset, and an eagerness to learn.
Are You Looking To :

  • Manage data entry within the HRIS and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy?
  • Maintain basic data within the HRIS and ERP systems as needed to correctly track work for payroll?
  • Review EAFs, generate and track documentation, and process changes timely for each bi-weekly pay cycle?
  • Work closely with colleagues in HR and Finance to deliver payroll reports for accurate and timely processing, and support with benefit invoice matters as needed? 
  • Partner with colleagues in Apprenticeship, Operations, ERP and BD as needed to support compliance in all aspects of prevailing wage work, from system set-up to hours tracking, calculations of prevailing wage, fringe or restitution, and compliant certified payroll reporting?
  • Support with maintaining accurate benefits records as needed, serving as a back-up contact for employee benefit inquiries, and assisting with employee leave and benefits administration?
Are You Ready to:  
  • Assist bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the processing of off-cycle paychecks as needed. 
  • Receive communications regarding payroll adjustments, respond to teammates, and execute while ensuring accuracy and compliance with standard processes
  • Support with the review and validation of payroll deductions and garnishments, employee pay setup, payroll policies, and payroll adjustments. 
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws, tax regulations, applicable federal and state compensation laws, and company policies. 
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with audits as necessary. 
  • Maintain familiarity with employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans which you can use in support of the overall team as needed. 
  • Ensure a working knowledge of our benefits administration systems and enrollment tools. 
What You’ll Need:  
  • Positive team- and learning-oriented mindset, with focus on shared continuous improvement and ownership for deliverables.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as the payroll responsible person for an organizationHigh School Diploma or GED. Associate's degree or beyond is a bonus, but not required. 
  • High level of attention to detail, and strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions, such as federal and state tax communications, income withholding orders, and benefit plan descriptions  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening. 
  • The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus because of frequent computer-based work.
