Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) & Dental Assistant (DA)

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Employment Type: Full-Time | 4-Day Workweek


Overview:

A well-established pediatric dental practice in Chattanooga, TN is seeking both a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and Dental Assistant (DA) to join a growing clinical team within a fast-paced, highly organized environment.

This practice is known for maintaining a strong patient experience, supportive team culture, and consistent clinical workflow that allows the office to stay productive while continuing to provide quality care for children and families throughout the community.

The ideal candidates are dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a pediatric setting where communication, efficiency, and patient care are priorities. Candidates should enjoy being hands-on clinically while contributing to a positive and collaborative office environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during restorative, preventive, and pediatric dental procedures

• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments before patient appointments

• Sterilize and maintain instruments according to OSHA and infection control standards

• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as permitted by certification and state regulations

• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and clinical documentation

• Provide chairside support during procedures to help maintain efficient patient flow

• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions

• Ensure treatment rooms remain stocked, clean, and prepared throughout the day

• Support overall clinical efficiency by helping maintain schedule flow and organization

• Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative team to create a positive patient experience

• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, sterilization, and office safety protocols at all times

• Help create a welcoming, supportive environment for pediatric patients and families


Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred

• Current CDA certification preferred for Certified Dental Assistant applicants

• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred

• Pediatric dental experience is a plus but not required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask and remain organized within a fast-paced environment

• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

• Familiarity with Dentrix, Dexis, or similar dental software preferred

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clinical efficiency throughout the day
