We service the fields of energy, electronics, chemical processing, pulp and paper, medical devices, plating, food manufacturers and pharmaceutical concerns across the nation. We are a progressive company supplying chemicals, delivery systems and expertise to improve the environment and assist customers in creating new offerings.
We are currently looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Intern to join our Accounting department in Minneapolis.
Job Description
Assist FP&A Manager in creating fiscal year 2013 company-wide financial budget:
  • Review prior fiscal year financial performance for each reporting unit and department.
  • Identify key drivers of expenses in each expense category and look for trends and anomalies.
  • Coordinate budget requests with department level managers.
  • Generate and publish various reports in JD Edwards and MS Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Maintain budget data in MS Access database and other MS Excel spreadsheets.
  • Assist accounting team with Capital Expenditure budgeting and analysis.
  • Explain financial budget vs. actual variances to management.
  • Document financial planning process.
  • Suggest any process changes or system improvements.

Month End close and other assignments:
  • Complete month end schedules and reports for review.
  • Archive files and paperwork as necessary.
  • Participate in other duties, projects, or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years post-secondary education completed, with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology
  • Experience with Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem Solving accompanied by excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and external customers
  • High level of personal organization (paper, calendaring, tasks, email management)
  • Ability to multitask and work well while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to achieve results independently and within a team setting
  • Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen are required.
