Job Title: Community Ambassador
Pay Range: $20.00 to $20.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)
1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available

Who We Are:
At Block by Block, we employ Ambassadors to make public spaces better by making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner for the communities we serve.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Traverse the designated zone on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to provide a high level of visibility and to carry out a variety of tasks to improve the overall appearance and safety of the area.
  • Engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile to provide directions and city info.
  • Use a bag and picker to remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, etc. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, etc. Clean outdoor surfaces.
  • Pulls weeds from the base of trees, in cracks in the sidewalks/lots, etc.
  • Operates a pressure washer to clean sidewalks, streets, and other areas.
  • Operate a kaboda or litter vacuum to sweep up litter, debris, leaves, etc.
  • Firmly and courteously request compliance from persons committing low-level crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
  • Identifies unhoused individuals in need, establishes relationships, and introduces them to agencies to help meet their needs. Establishes mutual respect to reduce the public nuisance perception of homelessness.
