Job description

Job Description

Position Overview

As a Director, Renewable Development, you will lead the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects in California.This will be a remote position based in the San Francisco area. Will also consider qualified applicants based in Los Angeles or San Diego.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage wind, solar, storage, geothermal projects within the California market.

  • Lead development activities in early, mid, and/or late stages of projects

  • Identify development prospects, including market assessments, fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance.

  • Secure site control for development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements and other agreements with landowners.

  • Take a lead role in obtaining certain local, state and/or federal permits.

  • Represent Invenergy with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders.

  • Initiate generation interconnection activities.

  • Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 8+ years' experience in energy project development, transmission, or power project engineering.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project site / company offices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related discipline such as business

  • Experience supporting the design basis and specifications for site characterization and preliminary engineering works of a renewable energy project.

  • Experience in the integration disciplines of a large generation facility project including interconnection, energy and capacity yield assessment, site control, ROW agreements and GIS.

  • Experience supporting economic modeling for all phases of a project.

  • Experience preparing RFI/RFPs, definition of work scopes and consolidation of bids from contractors in support of development activities.

  • Track record managing and/or coordinating both internal and external subject matter experts in the areas of permitting, engineering, and supply chain.

  • Working knowledge of design standards and impacts on solar & storage technology decisions, project development impacts, and project delivery on a regional basis.

Base Pay

$185,000.00 - $235,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 30% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
