Job description

Opportunity is Full Time Days
Rotation for "call" and holidays
Performs all sonography imaging studies under the general supervision of a licensed practitioner for the purposes of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders at a technical level not requiring constant supervision and within the scope of their license requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Performs all sonography imaging studies with appropriate application of technical and positioning protocols.
  2. Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physician and consults with the radiologists as necessary.
  3. Explains procedure and provides education as appropriate.
  4. Performs equipment warm up, calibration and safety check as needed. Operates hospital computer system.
  5. Reports to supervisor any equipment malfunctions. Operates equipment with manufacturer guidelines.
  6. Responsible for departmental records. Accurately and promptly documents in departmental records.
  7. Communicates reactions, complications, changes in condition to appropriate care provider.
  8. Performs staff/student education and orientation duties as needed.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience
  • Graduate from an approved program in Ultrasound
  • Two years experience preferred
  • ARDMS licensure, ARRT Ultrasound registration or eligible
