This internship takes place in the fall, typically beginning in late August or early September.

Interning with EveryMind is more than just an opportunity to gain experience, it’s a chance to make a tangible impact on community mental health awareness while developing key skills in public health and mental health education. 

The Community Education Intern at EveryMind will support the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health education programs across the National Capital Region. This role offers hands-on experience in public health–informed mental health education, community outreach, and program evaluation. Interns will collaborate with education leaders and community partners to increase mental health awareness, strengthen mental health literacy, and support equitable access to educational resources for diverse communities—all while contributing to a mission-driven organization dedicated to lasting community impact.

Schedule: Flexible, part-time (16-24 hours/week during business hours, M–F) 
Location: EveryMind Headquarters, Rockville, MD (with hybrid opportunities) 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Program Tracking & Grant Reporting – Collect and analyze data, track program outcomes, and support grant reporting to measure program impact 

  •  Educational Material Development – Assist in creating training materials, resources, and presentations to support mental health education initiatives 

  •  Program Implementation – Gain hands-on experience supporting the launch and delivery of community education programs that increase mental health awareness across diverse populations 

  •  Community Outreach – Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to promote mental health literacy and program engagement 

  •  Process & Training Support – Organize standard operating procedures, review education processes, and assist with implementing trainings 

  •  Technical & Onsite Support – Provide technical support for virtual trainings and onsite assistance for in-person trainings as needed 

  • Frequent travel between sites

 Qualifications 

  • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student studying Public Health or Education, or a related field 

  • Interest in mental health marketing and communications  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable communicating with a wide range of stakeholders 

  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Instagram, Facebook 

  • Some in-person availability is required for content capture 

  • Tech Savvy; comfortable using a smartphone for video and photo recording 

  • Previous customer service experience preferred. Leadership qualities are desirable 

  • Reliable Transportation; will go to regular outreach events 

  • Bilingual preferred but not required
