MACC Development is a non-profit Christian community development organization located on the lower east-side of Detroit. Founded by Mack Avenue Community Church in 2010, MACC Development has grown into one of the most exciting and innovative organizations through programs and projects that support our focus areas: Youth and Education, Housing and Blight and Economic Development.

Job Description

MACC Development is looking for three Summer Interns, whether in high school, college or post-grad, who want to get a first-hand look into Urban Ministry. If you are interested in the fields of social services, sports & recreation, community development, real estate development, entrepreneurship or education, MACC Development is an organization that can and will meet your expectation


The internship will take place for 8-10 weeks from June 12th - August 18th in 3-week rotations. Interns can expect to work 20-30 hrs/wk, 4-6 hrs/day.

This is not a paid internship. Interns should raise $300 a month for room & board, plus enough for monthly expenses, i.e. bills, gas, etc.

Responsibilities


Fellows will work with MACC Housing, MACC Sports and
MACC Lit and responsibilities will include:

  • Help with coordinating work projects for mission teams
    from across the country

  • Support the community engagement efforts with local
    community groups and attend block club meetings

  • Work alongside the Director of Community
    Development

  • Research and recruit local volunteers/sponsors

  • Assist with coaching/training/spiritual growth of k-5 students

         Work alongside MACC Lit and MACC Sports Program Managers


         Assist with facilitation of the MACC Lit Summer Camp Curriculum
