Job description

Executive Director – Texas Press Association

The Texas Press Association is seeking an executive director to champion the Texas newspaper industry.

Founded in 1880, TPA represents more than 350 newspapers across the Lone Star State.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee affairs of the Texas Press Association, Texas Press Service Inc. and the Texas Newspaper Foundation.
  • Manage robust financial portfolios including advertising sales networks, the Texas Newspaper Foundation, educational workshops and a $3.5M+ investment reserve fund.
  • Advocate for legislative priorities through TPA's Legislative Advocacy Program.
  • Collaborate with members and partners to inspire newspapers—from small-tower community weeklies to major metro dailies.
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to drive long‑term vision.
  • Connect with Texas journalism schools and foster alliances with other trade associations.
