About the Role 

AI is reshaping hospitality, and Canary is at the center of that shift.

Canary is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Manager to own and activate our strategic narratives around hospitality. You will lead strategic PR and communications end-to-end, shaping Canary's public narrative, driving trust, increasing visibility, and gaining influence across the hospitality landscape.

You will work closely to turn product innovation, customer momentum and industry trends into clear, compelling stories that drive awareness and position Canary as the leader in AI for hospitality.

Responsibilities
  • Own Canary's External Narrative: Develop and activate compelling narratives on Canary's leadership, partnerships, customers, etc. ensuring consistency in messaging across media, executive communications and social.
  • Executive Thought Leadership: Partner with co-founders and leadership to build and execute high-impact thought leadership across LinkedIn, PR and bylines, from ideation and interviewing, through ghostwriting.
  • Media Relations and Coverage: Build and manage relationships with trade and top-tier journalists, own inbound media inquiries and consistently secure high-quality media coverage and placements.
  • Storytelling and Pitching: Identify and pitch compelling stories, turning product launches, company momentum and industry trends into media opportunities.
  • Newsjacking and Trends: Monitor industry and AI trends to identify timely opportunities and translate them into relevant narratives and commentary.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Product and Customer teams to surface stories, align messaging and bring key initiatives to market.
  • PR Content Creation: Write press releases, executive commentary and external communications, and support major initiatives like reports and product launches with integrated PR strategies.
  • Social Presence: Elevate Canary's and executives' presence on social platforms (e.g. LinkedIn) through consistent, high-quality, impactful content.
  • Awards and Speaking Engagements: Identify and secure strategic awards and speaking opportunities aligned with key narratives.
  • Performance Tracking: Measure success through media placements, brand mentions and share of voice, and refine strategy based on performance insights.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in PR & Communications, with a focus on B2B SaaS
  • Hospitality or travel tech experience is a plus
  • Proven success building and executing executive thought leadership programs
  • Strong track record of securing consistent, high-quality media coverage
  • Sharp storytelling instincts and a strong sense for what makes a story land
  • Experience owning communications strategy from narrative through execution
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field
Compensation

Target cash compensation ranges from $125,000 - $145,000, including a fixed annual salary and a performance-based bonus paid monthly.
This role also includes a stock option grant, subject to board approval.
Actual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's skill level, experience, and specific work location.
