JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME

The School of Communication & Public Affairs in the College of Arts & Cultural Studies is accepting applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Communication to begin Spring or Fall 2026. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Teach four courses per semester across the areas of communication, strategic communication, strategic media, journalism, and debate.
  • The ability to contribute to the management and advising of the debate team or student newspaper is a plus.
  • Teach at the undergraduate and graduate level courses in both face-to-face and virtual modalities.
  • Advising undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Connect students with and review internship opportunities.
  • Engage in scholarly research, presentations, and publications and in professional development activities. ORU is a teaching university with an active research agenda encouraged.
  • Be involved in university activities such as faculty meetings, committee meetings, retreats, and chapel services.
  • Additional skills and experience in debate coaching, event planning, grant writing, nonprofit management, and philanthropy may elevate one's candidacy.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A Ph.D. in Communication or terminal degree in a closely related discipline is preferred. ABD candidates may also be considered.
  • Integrating a Spirit-empowered Christian faith in the classroom.
  • Have a demonstrated history of or potential for successful and excellent teaching and student engagement.
