Job description

Role Description:


A Sterile Processing Supervisorย oversees the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment to ensure patient safety. Key responsibilities include managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, implementing quality control, and training new personnel. Strong leadership, technical knowledge of sterilization processes, and adherence to infection control standards are essential for this role.ย ย 


Core Responsibilities & Qualifications:


  • Staff and workflow managementย 
  • Oversee quality control procedures and perform/validateย sterilization testsย 
  • Training and developmentย 
  • Compliance Including those from organizations like theย Joint Commissionย (JC),ย OSHA,ย CDC, andย AAMI.ย 
  • Instrument and equipment managementย 
  • Collaborationย 
  • A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent certification is required.ย 
  • Previousย experience in sterile processing is necessary, often with a minimum of 2-3 years.ย 
  • In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and automated sterilization systems is critical.ย 
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial for managing a team and coordinating with other hospital staff.ย 
  • High School Graduate / GED
