Position: Advanced Practitioner, Diagnostic Radiology
Practice: Progressive Physician Associates (PPA) is a large interdisciplinary private practice group of over 100 providers that includes Diagnostic Radiologists, Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons and Advanced Practitioners. We are the exclusive service provider for St. Luke's University Health Network (SLUHN) in Lehigh Valley, PA. We are proud to partner with SLUHN to support their Radiology Residency Program.
Our Network: St. Luke's University Health Network (SLUHN) is a non-profit, regional, fully integrated, nationally recognized network providing services at 16 campuses and more than 350 sites in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Schuylkill, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Monroe and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey.
Who we are seeking: An advanced practitioner to extend the excellent clinical care to our Diagnostic Radiology division throughout St. Luke's Hospital Network. The advanced practitioner will provide comprehensive medical/surgical care to patients at multiple sites, in collaboration with physicians and other staff. This includes medical evaluation, performing various procedures in collaboration with the attending physicians, and patient education. The selected candidate will play an integral part in the development and integration of this service into a currently high functioning Diagnostic Radiology practice. The ideal candidate would have previous image-guided needle procedure skills but not required. We provide comprehensive on the job training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Will review up-coming procedure orders, trouble shoot pre procedure discrepancies, and act as a liaison between the ordering providers and the radiologists.
  • Will perform a variety of in and outpatient image-guided procedures autonomously and in collaboration with the Radiologists. Procedure include, however are not limited to, musculoskeletal injections/aspirations, thyroid biopsies, and neuroradiology spine procedures.
  • Educate patients and families regarding the procedures and post procedure care.
  • Participates in clinical research activities and assists in patient entry.
  • Takes active role in ongoing QI/PI activities.
  • Functions as a mentor and resource providing guidance to coworkers and residents.
  • Contribute to radiology residents' image guided procedure training

Work Schedule:
  • Primarily days, subject to change with needs of the network
  • Will rotate coverage for all hospitals within St. Luke's University Health Network which includes 11 counties in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey

Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with patients, families, staff, and physicians effectively
  • Maintain knowledge of current medical practices and skills

Educational Requirements/Certifications:
  • Current Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or
  • The American Nurses Credentialing Center for Nurse Practitioners required
  • Prior experience in healthcare preferred
