Job description

Summary:
The fully remote Research Analyst position reports to the Director of Institutional Research, Planning & Assessment. This position will provide information, reporting, data management, and decision support to the Office of Institutional Research, Planning & Assessment, to the University community, and to external constituents and stakeholders.
Job Description:
Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Under limited supervision, the analyst will extract, compile, analyze and report institutional data on students, courses, personnel, finance and other aspects of the university as requested from Workday.
  • Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain a variety of Workday reports, dashboards, and reporting tools, including but not limited to standard, custom, composite, and matrix reports, while adhering to business requirements and best practices.
  • Responsibilities include querying internal databases; manipulating and evaluating data; filling ad-hoc data requests, preparing interpretive analyses and presenting findings in narrative and graphic forms; and effectively interacting with the university community and external constituencies.
  • The research analyst will perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Strong information gathering skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

  • Adaptable to shifting priorities.
  • Able to collaborate with internal customers and fellow analysts.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server & Excel
  • Ability to interact professionally and independently with administrators.
  • Sensitivity to institutional environments and a thorough understanding of contemporary academic issues.
  • Occasional travel overnight for multiple nights at a time for purposes of professional representation of the University and employee professional development
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, learn various data sources and make appropriate choices about their use, meet deadlines and accurately handle details, and adhere to Federal, State, and University policies regarding access to, use of, and release of confidential information is essential.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with Workday reporting (HCM, Payroll, Finance, and Student).
  • HCM Reporting Certification or Financials Reporting Certification preferred.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
