Strategic Account Manager
Sales Division Woodridge, IL Hybrid, Full-Time
Position Summary
The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for driving sustainable growth with a portfolio of assigned accounts by cultivating deep strategic partnerships, identifying and capturing expansion opportunities, and leading cross-functional efforts to deliver high-value customer solutions. This role serves as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for senior client stakeholders, aligning Radiant Road & Rail capabilities with each customer's evolving supply chain needs.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
  • Maintain and develop relationships with established accounts, with a focus on deepening partnerships and consistently expanding revenue, volume, and margin.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers' senior and middle management, delivering ideas, strategies, and transportation solutions that create clearly defined value.
  • Proactively identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities across Radiant divisions and service lines.
  • Represent the Company at industry events, transportation associations, and networking forums.

Solution Development & Proposal
  • Lead cross-functional efforts - including logistics service partners - in evaluating customer requirements and designing tailored solution options.
  • Develop and deliver compelling, detail-rich proposals and presentations that articulate the business case for Radiant services.
  • Leverage strong business case analysis and consultative selling skills to convert qualified opportunities into long-term client relationships.
  • Clearly identify current and future customer needs and present relevant transportation solutions that address them.

Internal Collaboration
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams critical to customer success, including IT, Operations, Pricing, Accounting, and Finance.
  • Contribute input to senior management on the development of corporate and divisional strategic goals, including volume, margin, and revenue targets.
  • Support the development and execution of Radiant Road & Rail's long-term strategic vision.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications
Education & Industry Knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Logistics, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of account management experience; experience in Transportation and Logistics preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the North American transportation industry, including domestic and cross-border highway, intermodal, and logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of IT-based, end-to-end supply chain solutions management.

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Business & Leadership Skills

Work Schedule & Environment
Schedule

  • Occasional travel to customers' places of business

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 plus commissions
Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
