Reporting to theHead Softball Coach, the Assistant Coachwill assist inall aspects ofthe NCAA DivisionIII softball program. This position supportsthe recruitment,development, and successof student-athleteswhile promoting academic achievement, sportsmanship, and personal growthin accordance withthemission of PlymouthState University andthe philosophy ofNCAA Division IIIathletics.

The successful candidatewill demonstratea strong commitmentto fostering an inclusive, positive, andcompetitive team culturewhile contributing tothe overall successof the AthleticsDepartment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the HeadCoach in allphases of thesoftball program, includingpractice planning, gamepreparation, and competition.

  • Coach and developstudent-athletes through individualinstruction and teamtraining sessions.

  • Identify, evaluate, andrecruit prospective student-athletes who demonstrate academic and athleticpotential.

  • Assist withpractice organization,skill development, scouting, and game strategy.

  • Support strength andconditioning initiativesand monitor student-athlete progress throughout the year.

  • Travel with theteam to awaycontests and recruitingevents as required.

  • Assist with teamoperations, including equipmentmanagement, travel logistics, scheduling, and administrativeresponsibilities.

  • Monitor student-athleteacademic performance andpromote personal development and leadership.

  • Ensure compliance withall NCAA DivisionIII, conference, and university rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Assist with alumnirelations, fundraisinginitiatives, communityengagement, and youthcamps and clinics.

  • Represent PlymouthState University andthe Athletics Departmentin a professional and positive manner.

  • Perform additional dutiesas assigned bythe Head SoftballCoach or Directorof Athletics.

Required Qualifications

  • Collegiate playingexperience and/orcollegiate coaching experiencein softball.

  • Strong knowledge ofsoftball fundamentals, player development, andrecruiting.

  • Excellent communication,organizational, and interpersonalskills.

  • Demonstrated commitmenttostudent-athlete success, academic achievement,and NCAA DivisionIII values.

  • Valid driver's licenseand theability to travelextensively.

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification(or ability toobtain upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous collegiate coachingor graduate assistantexperience.

  • Experience recruitingprospective student-athletes.

  • Knowledge of NCAADivision III compliancerules and regulations.

  • Experience coordinatingcamps, clinics, andcommunity outreach initiatives.

  • Master's degree orprogresstoward a graduatedegree.
