Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:ย 

With minimal direct supervision, the incumbent is responsible for driving sales of Engineering Services through distributor networks and end-user customers by identifying opportunities, developing manufacturing process solutions, and creating customer proposals. Collaborate with technical, operations, sales, and vendor teams to evaluate applications, assess risks, and deliver tailored solutions. Manages customer and distributor relationships throughout the sales cycle while supporting revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion within the assigned region. Reports to the Director of Sales and works cross-functionally with internal teams and industry partners.

Pay Range (Base Salary): $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 / year + commission

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintain technical fluency with Gosiger Engineered Systems services, Gosiger CNC machine tool product lines, and associated parts manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a strong technical relationship with distribution partners and end users.
  • Maintain a technical understanding of past and current manufacturing process applications as can be applied to future opportunities.
  • Attend technical sales events performed by suppliers and internal events.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned based on scope of work, skills, and abilities.

ESSENTIAL SALES RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, engineering services, technical capabilities, and competitive technologies.
  • Serve as primary customer contact to qualify opportunities, assess customer needs/budgets, gather technical requirements, and develop engineering proposals.
  • Drive sales growth by meeting/exceeding sales goals, negotiating terms, supporting collections, and managing business expenses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, suppliers, customers, and prospects.
  • Coordinate customer visits, meetings, training sessions, and showroom presentations.
  • Utilize CRM and SharePoint tools to manage accounts, track activity, forecast business, and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct regular distributor visits, sales calls, forecast meetings, and sales blitz activities within assigned territory.
  • Participate in training programs and support team development, problem-solving, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company sales processes and assist with additional departmental or company responsibilities as needed.

ESSENTIAL ENGINEERING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Evaluation Phase:

  • Participate in Discovery meetings with the objective of understanding the customersโ€™ needs through phone calls, web meetings, and onsite customer visits.
  • Review customer provided scope of work to generate machine process recommendations taking into consideration all Gosiger product offerings.
  • Generate cycle time studies, process drawings, and or process simulations to illustrate the recommended process options.
  • Collaborate with ESD Technical Solutions Team, ESD Operations Team, AWR Technical Solutions Team, Machine Tool Sales Teams as well as vendors / suppliers for work holding, tooling, and other capital accessories.
  • Continuously reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods to improve product/process quality, reduce waste, rework and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process.

Quoting Phase:

  • Collaborate with outside vendors to obtain quotes for content to be included within the ESD proposal.
  • Prepare technical presentations explaining the process recommendations and highlight the benefits of the Gosiger solution.
  • Produce both business presentations and ESD sales proposals for customers to support identified business opportunities. Presentations and proposals must be detailed appropriately relative to the timing and the probability of a projectโ€™s undertaking.
  • Participate in Process Review meetings with the objective of presenting process recommendations and machine tool solution through phone calls, web meetings, and onsite customer visits.

After Receipt of Order:

  • Host the internal project kick off meeting by providing a detailed overview of the proposal, selected process, work holding solution, and tooling solutions to the assigned team, through web meetings or in person.
  • Participating in the external project kick off meeting by providing a review of the proposal, high-level process overview for the customers assigned team through web meeting or onsite customer visits.
  • Primarily responsible for pre-sale project activities, however, supports program management of critical/complex/difficult projects (maintains active involvement) through installation to ensure customer satisfaction and provide continuity.
  • Direct input into contract interpretation and all customer discussions regarding changes to the โ€˜Scope of Workโ€™ and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Ensures ongoing, current communications between the end user, distribution partners, and Gosiger team members throughout the course of ESD projects.
  • Support assigned Engineering team throughout the life cycle of the project.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BAS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of hands-on machine tool and machining process experience with strong manufacturing aptitude.
  • Strong knowledge of machine programming, setup, metal cutting, tooling, fixtures/workholding, GD&T, CPK, and print interpretation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Fusion 360 or other 3D software preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods in manufacturing environments.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to obtain/maintain a passport and personal credit card for travel expenses.
  • Must reside in or relocate to assigned region and be willing to travel up to 40%, including domestic and international travel.
