Galco Industrial Electronics, Inc., located in Madison Heights, Michigan, is a leading provider of industrial and commercial electrical and electronic controls, automation and motion products, repair, and engineering services. Galco serves commercial and industrial businesses, contractors, government agencies, institutions, and utilities across the country.
We have an opening at our sister company - Ad-Tech CCI located in Harrisburg, PA.
Location: Primarily Central PA, MD & some Eastern PA
Reports To: GM/Sales Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to drive sales of industrial automation solutions, with a strong focus on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and industrial networking equipment. This role combines technical expertise with consultative selling to support OEMs, system integrators, and end users across a variety of industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow sales of industrial automation products including VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, motion control, sensors, and industrial networking equipment (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
  • Manage and expand an existing customer base while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with customers to understand applications, challenges, and system requirements, providing technically sound solutions.
  • Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and technical training to customers and channel partners.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, product management, and support teams to ensure successful solution design and implementation.
  • Support customers through the full sales cycle, from specification and proposal through commissioning support when required.
  • Develop quotations, proposals, and technical documentation tailored to customer applications.
  • Track opportunities, forecasts, and customer activity using CRM tools.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging automation technologies.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in industrial automation or controls.
  • Proven experience selling VFDs and PLC-based control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial networking protocols and architectures.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, control system architectures, and industrial specifications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, and manufacturing end users.
  • Familiarity with major automation platforms and drive manufacturers.
  • Background in industries such as manufacturing, material handling, water/wastewater, food and beverage, or energy.
