Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an Access Control & Security Systems Technician to install, program, integrate, and service electronic access control and video surveillance systems for commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the access control world — card readers, controllers, door hardware, and credential management — along with IP surveillance cameras and video management systems. Experience with platforms such as Lenel, Software House (C•CURE), Verkada, and Avigilon is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission access control systems — controllers, card/credential readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, door position switches, and power supplies. • Program and administer access control software and credentials, access levels, schedules, and door groups (e.g., Lenel OnGuard, Software House C•CURE 9000, Verkada Command, Avigilon Alta/ACM). • Install, aim, and configure IP surveillance cameras, NVRs/servers, and video management systems (VMS); verify coverage, recording, and retention.

• Integrate video surveillance with access control and alarm/intrusion systems for unified monitoring and event response.

• Install and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/6, composite security cable, fiber) and mount devices, enclosures, and equipment racks cleanly and to code.

• Configure networking for security systems: IP addressing, switches/PoE, VLANs, and remote connectivity. • Mount and wire door hardware; coordinate with locksmith/door contractors on strikes, maglocks, and ADA/egress compliance.

• Troubleshoot and repair access control, camera, and network issues on-site and remotely; document root cause and resolution.

• Read and work from floor plans, riser diagrams, and door schedules; produce accurate as-built and device documentation.

• Train clients on system operation, deliver a professional hand-off, and represent LRC Wireless professionally on-site.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience installing and/or servicing electronic access control and/or video surveillance systems. • Working knowledge of access control hardware — readers, controllers, locks, strikes, REX, and power supplies. • Experience installing and configuring IP cameras and a video management system (VMS/NVR). • Ability to run, terminate, and test low-voltage/structured cabling.

• Basic IP networking knowledge (addressing, PoE switches, connectivity troubleshooting). • Ability to read floor plans, riser diagrams, and door/hardware schedules.

• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record; able to pass a background check and drug screen. • Strong customer-service skills, dependable attendance, and attention to detail.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

• Manufacturer certification or documented experience with Lenel OnGuard, Software House C•CURE, Verkada, and/or Avigilon.

• Experience with additional platforms (Genetec, Brivo, S2/LenelS2, Milestone, Hanwha, Axis) is a plus. • Familiarity with door hardware, electrified locking, and ADA/life-safety egress requirements. • Experience integrating access control with video, intrusion, and mass-notification systems. • OSHA 10/30 certification; low-voltage license where applicable.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.

• Comfortable working overhead, in ceilings, and in tight or elevated spaces.

• Local travel to job sites; occasional evening/weekend work for scheduled cutovers or service calls.

Apply directly through this ZipRecruiter posting with your resume and a brief note about your relevant experience. Qualified applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview.

LRC Wireless is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening and must possess a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
