About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a Risk Manager to oversee and proactively manage risk across a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This role will play a critical part in protecting the portfolio by identifying exposures, managing claims, and implementing preventative strategies to support long-term asset performance.

About the Company
Our client is a privately held real estate owner/operator with a diverse portfolio of commercial assets. The firm operates with a hands-on, cross-functional approach across acquisitions, asset management, property management, and finance.


Responsibilities:

Claims Management

  • Oversee all general liability claims, including personal injury and slip-and-fall matters
  • Conduct incident investigations (reports, photos, surveillance, witness statements)
  • Serve as primary point of contact for claimants, attorneys, insurance carriers, and brokers
  • Drive early resolution strategies and negotiate settlements
  • Coordinate and manage defense counsel throughout litigation
  • Maintain detailed claims tracking, reserves, and documentation

Insurance & Compliance

  • Review insurance coverage to ensure alignment with portfolio risk profile
  • Support insurance renewals, including loss-run analysis
  • Monitor vendor COIs and ensure compliance with indemnification requirements
  • Coordinate timely claims reporting with carriers

Risk Management & Loss Prevention

  • Identify recurring risks and potential hazards across the portfolio
  • Partner with property management teams on loss prevention initiatives
  • Develop and deliver training on incident reporting and best practices
  • Conduct audits of safety procedures and maintenance protocols
  • Track claim trends, loss ratios, and overall exposure
  • Prepare reporting for senior leadership and recommend improvements
