Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day (Position Overview) As a Commercial Project Manager supporting the Transformers Order Execution team in the Americas, you will be responsible for the financial and commercial oversight of complex projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Your day may include managing project financial execution in SAP, analyzing project costs and cash flow, supporting commercial and contractual discussions, preparing forecasts and financial reports, and partnering closely with technical project managers to ensure successful project delivery. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams to manage financial risks, maintain compliance, and ensure accurate project reporting. This role offers broad exposure to large-scale industrial projects and the opportunity to directly influence commercial performance and financial outcomes.
How You'll Make an Impact (Responsibilities)
  • Manage the complete financial execution of projects including SAP project setup, sales order creation, project cost control, revenue recognition, and maintenance of accurate project financial data throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee complex accounting and commercial topics including loss calculations, provisions, cash flow management, invoicing, payment terms, taxes, insurance requirements, and foreign currency management in compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards
  • Partner with technical Project Managers to support project execution, commercial strategy development, contract negotiations, and resolution of financial and contractual matters across assigned projects
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial and commercial risks in collaboration with Legal, Tax, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Develop and maintain accurate project forecasts related to revenue, margin, SG&A, and cash flow while preparing and presenting financial reports and commercial documentation for project review meetings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment, reporting accuracy, process compliance, and successful execution of large-scale industrial and engineering projects

What You Bring (Requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related financial field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial Project Management, Project Controlling, Project Finance, or a related financial role supporting large and complex industrial or engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, project cost control, risk management, revenue recognition, and IFRS/GAAP accounting principles within a project-based environment
  • Experience working with SAP ERP, Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite, and project financial reporting systems, with the ability to independently manage complex commercial and financial project activities
  • Strong critical thinking, accountability, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project management, engineering, procurement, operations, legal, and finance teams
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
