## Commercial Litigation Associate


Established Florida litigation practice seeks a **self-directed, highly motivated attorney** to assist with a growing commercial litigation caseload.


This position is best suited for an attorney who is comfortable taking ownership of assignments, working independently, and moving matters forward without constant supervision. We are particularly interested in **solo practitioners, small-firm attorneys, or litigators seeking to develop substantial commercial litigation experience**.


The successful candidate will be expected to handle meaningful litigation work from the outset, including:


* Drafting and responding to written discovery;

* Reviewing and organizing document productions;

* Preparing and responding to motions;

* Researching and drafting memoranda, briefs, and pleadings;

* Handling discovery disputes and preparing motions to compel or protective orders;

* Preparing deposition outlines and assisting with depositions;

* Communicating with clients and opposing counsel;

* Managing deadlines and case calendars; and

* Identifying issues and recommending the next appropriate litigation steps.


### What We Are Looking For


Candidates must have prior civil litigation experience and a working knowledge of **discovery and motion practice**.


More importantly, we are looking for an attorney who:


* Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do;

* Can be given an objective and determine how to accomplish it;

* Works efficiently and meets deadlines;

* Is comfortable handling multiple active matters;

* Writes clearly and persuasively;

* Exercises sound professional judgment;

* Is resourceful when confronted with unfamiliar issues; and

* Wants increasing responsibility and challenging work.


Commercial litigation experience is preferred but not essential. An attorney with a strong foundation in civil litigation and a desire to become a sophisticated commercial litigator will be considered. Florida license required. Admission to the U.S. Southern and Middle Districts of Florida is preferred


The firm's matters include breach of contract, business fraud, shareholder and LLC disputes, corporate litigation, construction disputes, commercial real estate matters, and other complex business controversies.


This is **not a position for someone who requires extensive day-to-day supervision**. We are looking for an attorney who can serve as a reliable second set of hands on significant litigation matters and takes pride in completing difficult work correctly and on time.
