Job description

Intermountain Food Equipment is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Estimator and Commercial Kitchen Designer to support our sales team through precise equipment quoting, project coordination, and client communication. This role is vital in managing new and ongoing projects, including custom shelving and equipment design, and ensures smooth workflow from initial request through order completion. Based in our Salt Lake City office, the Estimator operates independently while collaborating with multiple teams and occasionally traveling locally.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver accurate equipment quotes using standardized pricing and company templates
  • Review project specifications, equipment schedules, and drawings for completeness and alignment
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining consistent turnaround times
  • Communicate effectively with sales representatives, dealers, and manufacturer partners
  • Manage project documentation aligned with company standards and processes
  • Design custom shelving and commercial kitchen equipment to meet project needs
  • Ensure continuity of projects without unnecessary handoffs, contributing to a streamlined sales process

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, project management, estimating, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Gmail; design software programs
  • Strong self-discipline and high work ethic with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and take ownership to completion
  • Efficient operation within structured systems and workflows, working primarily at a desk and computer

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years in estimating and commercial design, with experience in commercial kitchen design
  • Proven skills in project coordination, communication, time management, and high attention to detail
  • Experience in foodservice equipment or related industries like plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or construction
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Auto Quotes, or similar CRM and quoting tools
  • Education in business, accounting, operations, or related fields
