Job description

SPS has an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive to join our team! The Account Executive is primarily responsible for developing strong customer relationships that result in SPS being the partner that helps drive their jobs. The position will be responsible for understanding the organizations’ capabilities and developing business from both existing and new customers. A key role is to seek out, find and land business opportunities that are mutually beneficial to our customers and SPS.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial construction market, including developers, property owners, general contractors, and architects.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and prospects through networking, industry events, cold calling, and market research.
  • Conduct sales presentations, proposal meetings, and product demonstrations to showcase construction capabilities and solutions.
  • Develop customized proposals, bids, and pricing structures based on client requirements and project specifications.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients to foster loyalty, repeat business, and referrals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities within the commercial construction sector.
  • Share insights, best practices, and market intelligence with internal teams to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, maintaining regular communication to understand their needs, goals, and expectations.
  • Travel locally and regionally as needed to meet with clients, attend events, and visit project sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Experience:

  • At least five year’s (5) experience in the trade.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task and focus.
  • Detail driven with an accounting mindset – “know your costs”.
  • Excellent organizational skills – sequences and order.
  • Computer and technology savvy.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, products, and services, including knowledge of building materials, methods, and codes.
