Job description

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION
Primary Duties
1. Manages the process to connect and serve new residential / commercial development opportunities, with responsibility for:
reviewing new development plats, working closely with operations to determine gas infrastructure design, estimated costs and projected growth;
preparing feasibility studies on growth development opportunities;
recommending and gaining management approval on proposal terms;
negotiating and securing beneficial growth opportunities with developers;
preparing and executing contracts as necessary; and
serving as liaison during infrastructure construction.
2. Maintains strong business relationships with builders and developers within assigned territory, serving as their primary point of contact and proactively records interactions with these stakeholders.
3. Promotes the company's programs and services and advocates for natural gas usage to both internal and external stakeholders in an effort to influence natural gas buying decisions and promote natural gas for environmental, sustainable solutions.
4. Builds and manages relationships with channel partners, such as gas appliance dealers, plumbers, and HVAC dealers. Develops a strong gas dealer network in assigned work area. Promotes the company's programs and services in an effort to influence natural gas buying decisions.
5. Executes well defined business development programs to maximize customer retention, stakeholder engagement and grow market share. Pursue on main conversion and short main extension customer growth opportunities.
6. Manages division's Energy Efficiency program (where applicable) providing support to third-party administrator of the program for residential and commercial customers to take advantage of rebates offered.
7. Tracks building permit and new construction activity in assigned areas. Attends Planning and Zoning meetings to stay abreast of all residential and commercial development activity.
8. Utilizes market analytics to gage success and identify future market opportunities and key growth corridors. Develops and presents plans to management, communicating market results and recommendations to increase market share.
9. Manages assigned residential and commercial accounts to assure services delivered meet customer expectations.
10. Attends industry related meetings and conferences (i.e., local HBA's, state associations, ESC, SGA, etc.), presents important industry related information as appropriate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field and two years of related experience; or equivalent.
Valid driver's license required.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers/stakeholders in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical, environmental or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion and proactively advocate for continued/increased usage of natural gas.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform analysis involving financial investments, ratios, percentages and statistical methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, financial analysis, reports and/or graphics.
Physical Demands:
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Work Conditions:
Works in indoor and outdoor environments.
Requires attendance at after-hours events, occasional travel, and availability outside of business hours to respond to customer/business needs as needed.
