Retail Commercial Construction Estimator

Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Retail Commercial Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for retail commercial construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans and specifications, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and collaborating with the project management team to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

o Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.

o Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

o Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

o Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and develop mitigation strategies.

o Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and ensure estimates align with project timelines.

o Prepare and present bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and assumptions.

o Maintain an up-to-date database of costs and historical data to support accurate estimating.

o Track and analyze project costs and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.

o Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to project execution.

o Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid reviews.

o Stay informed about industry trends, construction methods, and market conditions to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

o Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail commercial construction estimating.

o Proficiency in estimating software Procore and Microsoft Office Suite.

o Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
