Commercial Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our crude oil and liquids trading team. This role combines market analysis, trade desk support, and commercial exposure. The successful candidate will deliver actionable insights, manage daily economics and risk, and contribute directly to trading, marketing, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Track market fundamentals: supply/demand, flows, infrastructure, arbitrage.
  • Monitor policy, regulatory, and new energy developments.
  • Support traders with hedging, risk, and scenario analysis.
  • Evaluate deal economics, blending, and asset optimization.
  • Assist in transaction structuring and execution across crude and liquids markets.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for customers and trading partners.
  • Participate in customer/counterparty meetings to support relationships.
  • Manage daily P&L, exposure, and position reporting with full accuracy.
  • Ensure trade capture integrity by working with middle/back office.
  • Assist in scheduling/logistics of crude movements (pipeline, rail, barge, truck).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years experience as a Commercial Analyst for a trade team/floor.
  • Experience in market analytics, blending, and/or physical scheduling.
  • Familiarity with the evolving energy landscape.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong commercial and communication skills; customer-facing ability.
  • Ambition to progress into a front-office trading or commercial role.

Education / Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field required.
