Job Title: Application Specialist
Job Description
The Application Specialist will be responsible for accurately and timely posting and applying customer payments through various methods such as ACH, wire, lockbox, checks, and credit cards. The specialist will research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and other account discrepancies. Additionally, the role involves reconciling daily cash receipts to bank activity, maintaining accurate payment records, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve payment issues.
Responsibilities
- Post and apply customer payments accurately and timely.
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and account discrepancies.
- Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank activity and maintain accurate payment records.
- Collaborate with Credit & Collections, Customer Service, Sales, and Accounting teams to resolve payment issues.
- Monitor customer accounts and assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of Cash Application experience.
- Proficiency in collections, accounts receivable, credit analysis, and reconciliation.
- Basic understanding of Excel, with willingness to learn pivot tables and vlookups.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Industry experience is a nice to have.
- Curiosity and adaptability to organizational changes.
- Strong team orientation and collaborative mindset.
Work Environment
The position is based in a new office in Anoka, MN, with plans for five days a week in the office, offering flexibility for occasional work from home after training. The team is a part of a large Accounts Receivable team, with a focus on cash application. They use Oracle for systems operations and Excel for data analysis, with training provided for pivot tables and vlookups. The work environment is collaborative, with team members sitting in close proximity to foster teamwork. The working hours are flexible, starting early in the day, with allowances for appointments and occasional remote work

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
