Our client is seeking an Accounts Receivable Supervisor to lead accounts receivable and collections operations for a growing organization in the construction and industrial services space. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing high-volume receivables, managing collection efforts, supporting month-end processes, and supervising a small but growing team.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to make a significant impact while helping shape and improve AR processes. As the organization continues to grow, there is potential for advancement into an Accounts Receivable Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and direct day-to-day activities of the accounts receivable function. • Manage and mentor accounts receivable staff, including training, workload distribution, performance management, and coverage planning. • Oversee high-volume invoicing and collections activities involving hundreds of invoices each month. • Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up with customers to ensure timely payment. • Develop and implement collection strategies that minimize bad debt and improve cash flow. • Prepare monthly aging reports, AR summaries, and other management reporting. • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to receivables. • Review and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues with customers and internal stakeholders. • Assist in determining proper cash application for customer payments. • Monitor customer creditworthiness, credit limits, and receivables risk. • Maintain accurate documentation of collection efforts, payment arrangements, and customer communications. • Collaborate with operational, sales, accounting, and leadership teams to improve collection processes and resolve outstanding balances. • Provide regular updates and reporting to management regarding receivables performance and collection efforts. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to AR processes, controls, and reporting.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of accounts receivable, collections, or credit management experience. • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. • Construction industry experience is required, including familiarity with subcontractor relationships and project billing requirements. • Strong background managing high-volume accounts receivable environments. • Comfortable handling collection activities and difficult payment conversations. • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and internal controls related to receivables. • Experience using ERP systems; SAP Business One experience is preferred. • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. • Ability to analyze detailed financial information and provide meaningful summaries and recommendations. • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Work Environment
