Job description

Creativity. Innovation. A desire to effect positive change. That's what it takes to work at Fuss & O'Neill - because that's what we do for the communities in which we work: we create, innovate, and design long-lasting improvements that improve quality of life. Quality of life is also important on the job, so we've prioritized work-life balance by offering flexible/remote work opportunities, part-time benefits, and generous PTO. We believe that each day is an opportunity to support one another, to support our clients, and to support our communities. If you feel the same, then you've found your future.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Wastewater Project Manager with deep expertise in wastewater collection systems and conveyance infrastructure. This individual will lead the planning, evaluation, design, and rehabilitation of gravity sewers, force mains, pump stations, and related assets, supporting both municipal and industrial clients.
In this role, you will play a critical part in enhancing system performance, reliability, resiliency, and regulatory compliance across diverse service areas. You will manage projects throughout the full lifecycle-from condition and sustainability assessments and hydraulic modeling to design, permitting, construction support, and project closeout-while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality engineering solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a leader who is passionate about infrastructure improvement, mentorship, and contributing to the growth of a high-performing collection systems practice.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of wastewater collection and conveyance projects, including gravity sewer systems, force mains, and pumping/lift stations
  • Lead resiliency and condition assessments, including inflow and infiltration (I/I) evaluations, rehabilitation planning, and design for existing sewer networks
  • Oversee and evaluate CCTV inspection programs and incorporate findings into system improvement strategies
  • Direct hydraulic modeling, capacity analyses, and system master planning efforts
  • Lead project teams, coordinate resources, and manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution
  • Perform and review engineering analyses, designs, and technical reports related to system performance, expansion, and rehabilitation
  • Prepare and present proposals, technical memoranda, plans and specifications, and cost estimates to clients and stakeholders
  • Manage construction-phase services, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field coordination
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff, fostering technical development and growth
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development efforts within collection and conveyance services
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 7+ years of experience in wastewater collection systems and conveyance design
  • Demonstrated experience with sewer system hydraulics and modeling tools (e.g., SewerGEMS, SWMM) and pump station design
  • Strong understanding of gravity sewer design, force main systems, and rehabilitation methods (e.g., CIPP, pipe bursting, horizontal directional drilling, microtunneling preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and consistently deliver on schedule and within budget

This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds-collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. We're committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining strong team connection and project delivery.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Customize your work schedule to fit your life.
  •  Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health benefits to keep you and your family healthy.
  •  Continuous Learning: Access to online courses, conferences, and learning materials to fuel your professional growth.
  •  Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to recharge with our generous paid time off policy.
  •  Career Advancement: Clear paths for promotions and the opportunity to take on new challenges.
  •  Fun Team Culture: Regular team-building activities, happy hours, and company outings.
