Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator II to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise network systems with a primary focus on the Cisco ecosystem. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability, performance, and security across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Administration
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS)
  • Manage LAN/WAN infrastructure, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols
  • Administer Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching environments
  • Monitor network performance using tools such as Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds, or PRTG
  • Perform routine network maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patch management
Security & Compliance
  • Manage Cisco ASA and Firepower (FTD) firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), and VPN configurations
  • Implement and enforce network security policies in alignment with organizational standards
  • Support network access control (NAC) using Cisco ISE
  • Assist with security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts
Wireless & Collaboration
  • Administer Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and access points (Catalyst/Aironet series)
  • Troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues and optimize RF coverage
  • Support Cisco Unified Communications and collaboration tools as needed
Incident & Change Management
  • Respond to network incidents and outages, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
  • Document network changes, configurations, and procedures in accordance with ITIL practices
  • Collaborate with the helpdesk and IT teams to resolve escalated network issues
Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in network design reviews and infrastructure upgrade projects
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance and resilience
  • Mentor junior network staff and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives

Qualifications
Required
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network administration
  • Proficiency with Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/NX-OS command-line configuration
  • Strong working knowledge of routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
  • Experience with Cisco ASA or Firepower firewall management
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, QoS, and network fundamentals
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and documentation
Preferred
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) or Cisco DNA Center
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE for network access control
  • Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or Cisco DevNet APIs
  • ITIL Foundation certification
Pay Range: $45.00 - $58.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
