Savage is looking for an experienced Material Handling Operator who will be a part of a specialized team of our coke handling operation in Port Arthur, TX

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • The Material Handling Operator will contribute to a coke-handling team by operating several pieces of equipment that will help move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution
  • Operate any one of the following on a daily basis: a CAT 980 Loader (or equivalent) and Senebogan 850
  • Perform thorough pre and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment
  • Expand personal knowledge of operating equipment
  • Report maintenance issues to the maintenance crew
  • Understand our critical service requirements and see they are met
  • Take an active role in our safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensure safe behaviors
  • Ensure environmental compliance

Requirements to Be Successful in This Position:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card
  • Be able to read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions
  • 1 year of outdoor labor, refinery, plant, or industrial preferred
  • Savage is a Military Friendly Employer - Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus

  • You will be routinely required to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements
  • Must be able to lift to 70 lbs
