Job Purpose
The ALPOLIC Division of Mitsubishi Chemical Americais seeking a dedicated Coil Coating Line Operator to join our day-shift manufacturing team. This full-time position enjoys a consistent four-day workweek, working 12-hour schedule Monday through Thursday 6:00 AM to 6:15 PM. This schedule offers long weekends every week, predictable hours, and the ability to plan your life outside of work with confidence.
The starting pay for this position is $18.00 per hour, with open progression opportunities through our Pay-for-Skills program as additional competencies are achieved. An additional $0.36 per hour is paid for day shift differential. This role is also eligible to participate in our annual profit-sharing bonus program, offering further earning potential as part of our commitment to rewarding team performance and company success.
Principal Accountabilities
The Coil Coating Line Operator facilitates the completion of work plans as created by the Scheduler, Plant Manager, Manager, or department supervisors. The operator also ensures proper materials are used to meet quality standards, monitors and operate processes as assigned, and monitors and processes control equipment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment
  • Keep work area clean
  • Adhere to safety and environmental rules
  • Document the use of materials and time required in the production of materials and products
  • Control and operate equipment safely
  • Maintain quality standards by inspection of materials, control of processes, and continuous sampling and testing of both product and process
  • Use scientific rules and methods to solve problems
  • Provide value to our customers through effective operations of assigned work area and support to the facility
  • Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machinery is working properly
  • Replenish inventory as needed
  • Support supervisors and team in training and cross-training efforts
  • Position requires use of an air purifying respirator
  • Must be able to maintain Forklift license as issued by Mitsubishi
  • Other duties as assigned by department manager

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
  • One to two years in heavy industrial setting

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment to include safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, air purifying respirator, and additional PPE as required
  • Position requires use of an air purifying respirator which may affect some styles of facial hair
  • Candidate must be able to pass a respirator clearance physical
  • Correctable eyesight required
  • Must be comfortable working around moving equipment
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, forward reaching, and twisting
  • Occasional squatting, crouching, and above shoulder reaching
  • Ability to stand for extended period
  • Dexterity manipulation required for use of hand tools and light equipment
  • Must be able to push/pull material using pallet jack
  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs., occasional lifting up of 50 lbs
  • Moderate exposure to temperature change in non-climate-controlled environment with potential of working near heated processes
