Job description

 

Job Summary

This labor-intensive position is responsible for ensuring producing a quality product. Must be able to lift 50Lbs. Requires strict attention with respect to order accuracy.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Abide by all existing safety and work rules.
  • Review preceding shift operations, problems, status, orders, special instructions, etc.... with preceding coater helper.
  • Review coating schedule and ensure accurate footage is run for all products.
  • Ensure correct film, adhesive, run conditions, web path, etc.
  • Check solids of adhesive being used at beginning of shift and on each additional batch prior to using, adjust if necessary.
  • Check film for corona treatment before mounting to determine correct loading of film.
  • Visually inspect material for film and/or coating defects.
  • Report all defects to supervisor.
  • Check coating weights as required.
  • Make pre-mix if necessary.
  • Accurately measure and/or add catalyst.
  • Prepare for changeovers in advance to minimize downtime.
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Review shift operations, problems, status, orders, special instructions, etc. with oncoming operator.
  • Maintain equipment as necessary, report any damage or mechanical issues to supervisor.
  • Empty trash containers at the end of shift.
  • Inform supervisor of any inability to complete the assigned order.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment/area.
  • Assist other plant employees as necessary.
  • Follow all “coater operator” work instructions.
  • Perform any and all activities as required or requested by management.

 

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing or Quality environment preferred.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 50 pounds and endure elevated temperature levels.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions including basic mathematical skills.
  • Education: High School Diploma or credentialed equivalent in English & Mathematics.
  • Additional auxiliary equipment: Possess or learn the ability to operate Forklift, Cranes, Floor Jacks, Saws, Knives (other hand tools).

 

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis’s total compensation package. The hourly base pay range for this role is estimated to be $19-$22 per hour
